Expert tip: The focus is the key to ergonomics

Many professionals compare loops based solely on total weight, but the real secret to neck and shoulder health lies in: priority location. The further the optics are from the face, the greater the torque to the neck caused by the lever arm - the difference between a few grams along the nose can be felt as a pressure of several kilos at the end of the day.

Please note these criteria in your selection:

  • Minimize lever arm: favour short frame optics, such as Enova Micro Ergo - A collection. Its exceptionally light structure (optics from only 20.4 g) keeps the focus as close to the face as possible.

  • Role of the framework: Optics is only half the profit. Choose an ultralight frame as partner, such as Enova Airon ™ (15.1 g) or Xenosys IPAC Frame (16 g).

  • Optical quality: Make sure the lenses have a high light transmission and anti-reflex. For example: High Index Trivex ® -lenses provide a crystal clear view without the extra weight of the glass.

Working Distance

Optimal view and complete work ergonomics start with accurate measurement. The working distance is the point where the optics are sharpest and your posture is most natural. To ensure the complete fit of your individual loop, We ask that you make the next measurement in preparation for the appointment.

This is how you do the preparation and measurement correctly:

  1. Take a position: Sit or stand in the position where you do your job normally. If you wear glasses at work, keep them in your head.

  2. Take the instruments: Simulate the actual work situation with the instruments in your hand. This ensures that shoulders and elbows settle in the natural corner.

  3. Use your assistant: Ask a colleague to measure the distance in millimetres from the surface of the eye (or from the surface of your glasses) directly to the target.

  4. Confirm posture: Keep your back straight and neck in neutral position. Don't reach for the tape, let the optics bring the object to your eyes.

  5. Select the comfort range: Try moving a few inches forward and back. Write down the distance where the position feels the most free.

Expert tip: If you are between two measures, we recommend choosing a distance of 1-2 cm. This helps to keep the back straight and prevents bending towards the patient.

Why is this preparation important?

Each pair of loops is manufactured individually (TTL - Through-They-Lens) according to the working distance and the pupil distance (PD) indicated. By doing this preconditioning, we ensure that:

  • In the event of a settlement, we'll get straight to fine-tuning.

  • The field of vision is wide and sharp up to the edges, just as you do.

  • The neck-shoulder load will decrease and your working comfort will be maximised.
